Social Media Policy

Working with Lizzie Cass-Maran Ltd following a co-design workshop, and incorporating current guidelines and best practice we have written the following Social Media Policy.

Why we use social media

Visible Fictions uses social media to:

Showcase work which has been created specifically for social media
Showcase work that has not been created for social media
Promote our work
Understand and listen to our audiences
Give an insight into the “behind the scenes” aspects of our work
Support other organisations and the wider cultural sector
Work on behalf of other organisations (eg social media “takeovers”)

What we talk about and how

We aim to be always:

Positive and encouraging
Upbeat
Honest
Polite, patient, and kind
Inclusive and anti-racist

We never share, comment on, or interact in any way with content that is inappropriate for our young audiences, including:

Swearing
Adult content
Smoking, drug or alcohol use

We remain neutral on directly addressing party politics, religious views, and constitutional issues. However, we acknowledge that these might be indirectly addressed when talking about relevant issues. Our social media output is only directly connected to the work of Visible Fictions, our product, and engagement.
