“At Visible Fictions, we believe stories have the power to inspire, connect, and create change. Our mission is simple, to make the performing and digital arts accessible to every child and young person, no matter their background.
By joining our Friends Circle, you will be part of a community that helps us share bold and imaginative story driven work with schools, families, and communities across Scotland and beyond. Together we can ensure storytelling continues to be a force for creativity, inclusivity, and hope for the next generation.”
Bring Stories To Life. Share the Journey.
Since 1991, Visible Fictions has been creating award-winning productions that spark imaginations and connect people across Scotland and around the world.
Our stories travel widely – from theatres, schools and community halls and international stages to film and animation festivals, television and digital platforms. They always begin with the same purpose: to inspire and include.
Pioneers in Creativity – We reimagine what the performing and digital arts can be, creating bold and inventive productions.
Committed to Inclusion – We believe that the arts belong to everyone, and we work hard to remove barriers to access.
A Legacy of Impact – From school workshops to international tours and digital presentations, we have inspired hundreds of thousands of young people for over 30 years.
Through our performances, creative learning programmes, and support for emerging artists, we keep the Scottish cultural sector vibrant, diverse, and accessible to all.
Bring Stories To Life. Transform Lives.
Becoming part of the Friends Circle means joining a community that believes every child and young person deserves the chance to experience the magic of performance. Together, we can open doors, ignite imaginations, and make the arts truly accessible.
As a Friend, you will help:
• Open access making performances free or affordable for young people who might otherwise miss out.
• Spark creativity supporting the creation of bold, imaginative new work that challenges and inspires.
• Champion diversity ensuring that emerging artists and underrepresented voices are heard and celebrated.
This is about more than supporting performance – it’s about shaping a cultural landscape that is inclusive, creative, and full of possibility.
Bring Stories To Life. Inspire Change.
The Friends Circle is one community, united by a belief in the power of performance to inspire and connect.
Every gift helps us reach further – and those who are able to give more make an even greater difference.
We suggest an annual contribution of between £500 to £1,000, structured as a small subscription (to cover benefits for HMRC) and a larger voluntary donation, eligible for Gift Aid:
At £500 per year (£100 subscription, £400 donation)
At £1,000 per year (£200 subscription, £800 donation)
you will be warmly welcomed through:
• Invitations to rehearsals, workshops, and behind-the-scenes moments.
• Opportunities to meet our artists and hear directly from our Artistic Director.
• Regular updates on the impact of your support, including stories from those whose lives you’ve touched.
• Acknowledgement of your generosity in our programmes and online (if you wish).
• Shared celebrations at an annual gathering with fellow Friends.
Whatever level you choose, you will be part of one Circle – a community of people who believe in making performance accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for all. If you prefer to give at a different level, every gift is valued and makes a genuine difference.
Bring Stories To Life. Transform Through Friendship.
• Inspire young people – Your support helps us bring powerful performances into schools and communities that might otherwise be left out.
• Create bold new work – You enable artists to take risks, experiment, and tell stories that challenge and inspire.
• Open doors to the arts – Your generosity ensures more children and families can experience live and digital performance, often for the very first time.
By joining the Friends Circle, you are investing in the future of storytelling – keeping performance a force for change, connection, and imagination.
Above all, you are showing young people that their voices, their stories, and their creativity truly matter.
