Zoë Hunter

Co-Creator Actor

Zoë Hunter is a writer/director/performer. She trained at Central School of Speech and Drama, London, and holds a law degree from Glasgow University. She was a member of Brighton based Unpacked Theatre, producing and touring their work for a decade. As a writer development of her first feature, HEAVY, was supported by the BellRock screenwriting programme and she has just completed the NFTS Scotland John Yorke Screenwriter’s Academy. Zoë is also proud to present her first feature as director, Dark Soul (A Film for The Ears), written by Ros Borland which won a Torc Award for excellence at the 2024 Celtic Media Festival.

As a performer, Zoë has worked with, amongst others, National Theatre of Scotland, BBC, Blazing Griffin, The Edinburgh Royal Lyceum, Twenty Stories High, Horse & Bamboo. She has appeared in numerous short films working with the London Film School, London Met, SFTN etc. She received an Offie nomination for Metal Rabbit’s sell-out show Lardo and starred in CBBC's Scottish BAFTA winning Last Commanders.

Martin McCormick

Co-Creator Actor

Martin trained at the RSAMD (now RCS) graduating in 2007. He now works as an actor, playwright and director.

His theatre credits include work with National Theatre of Scotland, Dundee Rep, Perth Theatre, Royal Lyceum, Traverse, Tron, Citizens Theatre, Oran Mor, Magnetic North, Vox Motus, Catherine Wheels, Visible Fictions, Random Accomplice, The Arches and Grid Iron. He was nominated for Best Actor at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival for Grid Iron's production of Decky does a Bronco.

Martin has also appeared in various TV shows including:- Two Doors Down, Murder Island, Still Game, Taggart, Shetland and Hollyoaks Later.

He has directed various productions at Perth Theatre, Oran Mor and, recently, The Celtic Story at the SEC Armadillo (which he also wrote and adapted).

His other writing credits include The Maggie Wall and 22 Mays (both Pitlochry Festival Theatre), Clunk (Visible Fictions), South Bend (Grid Iron), Ma, Pa and the Little Mouths (Tron/NTS), The Day the Pope Emptied Croy (Traverse/Play, Pie and a Pint), and Flo (Play, Pie and Pint/Lemon Tree). He also worked as a co-writer on News Just In (Random Accomplice).

Previously to this, his debut commission, Squash, won the 2015 Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland for Best New Play. Other awards include Best Short Play in 2015 for Potterrow (supported by Cumbernauld Theatre). He also wrote and directed the Panto at Livingston’s Howden Park Centre for 6 years between but will this year be writing and directing the Christmas Panto at the Oran Mor.

Douglas Irvine

Dougie Irvine is a founding member, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Visible Fictions. Under his leadership, the company has presented various story driven works in theatres, schools, outdoor sites, community settings, libraries, on television, radio, the internet, and at international film festivals. Both national and international partnerships have been at the heart of the company’s work, with co-productions and collaborations being formed with a range of arts organisations including: The Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, BBC Scotland, The Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Opera, National Theatre of Scotland, The Traverse, Aberdeen Performing Arts, Oregon Children’s Theatre, and CTC in Minneapolis. He has also worked as an actor, tutor and director with other companies including the BBC, Citizens Theatre, Royal Lyceum, Macrobert, Oran Mor, Polka Theatre, Scottish Youth Theatre, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Leeds Conservatoire, and both Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities.

Kevin Murray

Composer and Sound Designer

Kevin Murray is a Sound Designer and composer with a Masters in ‘Sound Design for the Moving Image’, from the Glasgow School of Art. In 2016, he was awarded the BAFTA New Talent award for his original short film ‘Paperclip’.

Kevin recently worked on an audio drama for UNESCO, working with recordings from all around the world, creating the soundscape and recording various voices for the piece, which is now available on Apple Podcasts.

His most recent work was as Sound Designer on Steph Smith’s adaptation of ‘The Outrun’ at Edinburgh International festival directed by Vicky Featherstone

Other recent work includes creating the sound assets for multiple VR Applications for the ‘VR Hive’ company based in Paisley.

Kevin has written music for various outdoor events, across the UK. He is currently Sound designer and Composer for Itison’s ‘Glasglow’ in the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, now onto it’s sixth year

Previous theatre work includes, Sound Designer for Hamlet with Ian McKellan at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022, Sound Associate for the National Theatre of Scotland, Sound Designer for Pitlochry theatre’s production of ‘Noises off’
