Visible Fictions have created Working Title, an exciting new project which will award 5 artists/creatives, space, time and money to be bold, innovative and to stretch their artistic ambitions. Our aim is to allow the selected individuals time to dream, to talk, to experiment and to develop a new story/idea suitable for young audiences.
Simply put, a brilliant story or idea that excites us. Something that places our young audience at its centre. Something that is out of the box. There are no restrictions on artform, or where this story could be seen and shared. Be dynamic in your thinking, all the worlds a stage after all. We want you to consider our core values and be green in your thinking.
We tell stories, it’s at the heart of everything we do. For thirty years we have existed to thrill, delight and inspire children, young people and adults with our head-turning, heart-flipping, diversely-accessible artistic projects, productions and activities. Our core values include bravery, innovation and accessibility. We take our green credentials very seriously and are always seeking ways in which to offset our emissions and create work that has a low impact on our environment. We are collaborators, who place the people that we work with at the front and centre. We love working with new people, with new ideas, and new possibilities.
You will be a professional artist/creative from any background with a great idea. You could be an actor, technician, designer, dancer, writer, visual artist . . . in the middle of your career, at the start, or you may have been making work for a while. You will be based in Scotland. If you are from an under-represented group, we are keen to encourage and nurture you and your application.
Visible Fictions will provide a budget of £5000. Give you time to explore your idea/story. Provide development and mentoring time with our Artistic Director. The opportunity to connect with the other successful candidates. Office space in central Glasgow if needed. Access to other Visible Fictions team members – their expertise and skills.
