For ages 9 and over/ Written by Robert Forrest / Directed by Douglas Irvine
Visible Fictions tours a hugely physical and irreverent telling of the ancient Greek myth. Playing with scale, invention, action figures and a stunning transformative cart, this piece is a great adventure story for nine years old and over with monsters, romance, destiny, heroism and revenge.
Jason and the Argonauts first toured the UK in 2007 and showcased internationally at IPAY, Tampa, in January 2008. Following this it has toured all over Ireland, the USA and Canada, including runs at the New Victory Theatre on Broadway, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC and The Wallis Annenberg Center in L.A. The production has also toured to Australia including the iconic Sydney Opera House.
The production requires a minimum playing space of 30ft (9m) wide by 20ft (6m) deep 14ft (4m) to the lowest point overhead playing area. The touring company consists of two actors and one stage manager.
