Nurturing Creativity and Learning

Visible Fictions produces a vibrant participation programme which inspires young people to unleash their artistic potential and nurtures creativity and learning.

We have five over-arching participation & education aims which are:

  • To work with young people, as co-artists, in order to develop their own creative potential and enable them to discover and explore themes and forms that are exciting and pertinent.
  • To achieve maximum access by pro-actively seeking opportunities to engage with under-represented groups.
  • To lead, contribute to and support progressive and visionary arts education practice in both formal and informal education.
  • To inspire our audiences’ own creativity and engage them in a critical exchange.
  • To optimise the learning potential of our programme through making links and engaging in partnerships with relevant initiatives and organisations.

There are currently three themes to this work.  Each theme relates to a number of Visible Fictions productions.

Retreat explores questions of isolation, withdrawal and mental well-being.
Flight explores moving between worlds and cultures.
Framed explores being trapped by a situation or by a definition.

You can read more about these strands and our different projects in participation projects.
